My top five dog training
tips:
-
Your dog will thank you for being a clear, calm and assertive leader. Find out how good it feels to take control of situations and have your dog follow your role
-
Be the leader - of the walk especially. Start with your dog calmly following by your side or behind you - right from the front door. 5min in the beginning and 5min at the end - believe me, your dog and your household will thank you for it!
-
Own your space. No matter what - you make the rules - dogs actually LOVE learning new things!
-
Check your energy. Are you nervous, fearful, frustrated or anxious. Animals reflect us, so if you are an insecure leader, its time to step it up!
-
Have fun. Enjoy what your dog is here to teach you. See every situation as a challenge and as an opportunity for growth.
The walk is the most important part of owning a dog. My philosophy is always "start well... end well" And I love giving my dog the freedom, joy and sillyness, that I know she loves, in between.
Expect me to take your dog out on a walk in our first hour of working together - its the best way to bond, form mutual respect and create necessesary boundaries for their wellbeing.
The best way to understand your dogs behaviour is to listen to them. The first most important rule to follow is;
EXERCISE - LEADERSHIP - AFFECTION
Has my dog had these three things today?
